SHOWCASE PREPARATION

Week 2 (29/4/24)
For the media team, our team leader (Jia Yee) assigned tasks for each of us,
and most of the tasks were to generate ideas as it was just the beginning of
everything. My tasks were:
- Find ideas for personal portrait designs
- Generate ideas for invitation post
- Generate ideas for guide to digital portfolio
Week 3 (6/5/24)
This week our team showed others the self-portrait shooting style ideas that we found based on the retro style that we voted for. Among the styles that we found, they voted for the American retro style. Then we continue to explore the idea.

Week 4 (13/5/24)

We also showed other committees the individual posts that we tried to do, and they chose the second-row ones with dark backgrounds, so we had to explore more on that to achieve the best version. Other than the CD, we also have to generate ideas on the cover page (album cover) for the individual posts.
Week 5 (20/5/24)
This week we showed other committees the individual posts that we tried to do, and the second version of the self-portrait design ideas on the CD. After getting suggestions and feedback, we proceed to continue exploring other layouts too.
We had a test shoot this week before the official shooting day on week 7 to practice and make sure the shooting style was suitable, tried to explore the lighting position and the background as well to get the best result that could be used on the shooting day smoothly.
Week 6 (27/5/24)
This week we showed our progression in exploring the individual post (CD), we used the color palette that was decided for the showcase, to match the showcase more. In the end, the majority chose to have a colorful background for the CD instead of a dark background, so we continued exploring more on that after that.

We had a 2nd test shoot this week as well, to try out the sunset lamp with different color lighting for the CD album cover (individual post cover). But in the end, we gave up on this idea as there were lots of uncontrollable factors like it's hard to crop, not all the lighting looks nice on people, and there won't be too much difference when everyone's CD is put together, etc.
Week 7 (3/6/24)
We had a final individual post layout this week, and we decided to add signatures on the cover to make it more like an album cover. Before the shooting, our president and our leader had prepared and sent notes to everyone who was involved in the shooting to remind them to prepare themselves, props, and poses to ensure the shooting could go smoothly.
This week, we had a four-day shooting (without aircond :)) for the individual post for 44 students who were involved in the showcase.
Week 8 (10/6/24) - Week 10 (24/6/24)
These 3 weeks we focus on editing the individual posts using the photo from the photo shoot and also using the previous projects that others provided to include in the individual posts. We had a few times changed the guidelines for some details like text sizes, text, and content positions to make sure the outcomes were the same as there are 6 of us doing it.

Week 11 (1/7/24)
This week Jia Yee and I tried to explore the group photo post
layouts. We also discussed the launching video ideas, everyone had
suggested ideas for it, but in the end, we agreed on using Jia Yee's
idea which was to have a storyline for the launching video instead
of doing a simple launching video.
The initial idea of the launching video was about the main
character rushing to deliver an important file to our showcase, and then the video content would be connected to the
spot at the showcase.
Week 12 (8/7/24)
This week we went to Ken Gallery to shoot some content for the launching video and also for other content as well.

Week 13 (15/7/24)
This week we were still shooting the content for the launching video at
our team member's house (thanks Lungga :)) and at campus too.

Week 14 (22/7/24)
This week I did the "How to get there" post and revised a few versions to get the best results. And we also took a few shots again for the launching video as the previous ones didn't work well.

Everything is done and prepared for the showcase :)
REFLECTION
Over the past 14 weeks, it's been fascinating to see how a group of around 20
people came together to create this showcase from the ground up. As a member
of the media team, it’s been an amazing experience to witness our project
evolve from 0% to 100% completion. Even now, with the showcase just two days
away, it still feels surreal. It's hard to believe that something we've
invested so much time and effort into is about to become a reality.
I believe that most of us have dedicated countless hours and put a lot of
effort into the showcase because we all want the showcase to run
smoothly and be something everyone enjoys and loves. This was all done while
we were also working on our major projects.
As we reach the end of this journey, I want to acknowledge the incredible work
everyone has done in their roles. I’m especially grateful to my groupmates and
our team leader, who did an outstanding job leading us and contributed the
most within the media team. I also want to give a special thanks to our
president, Britney. Working with her as both a friend and colleague, I’ve seen
firsthand how hardworking she is. She truly wanted the showcase to run
smoothly and put in her best effort to ensure everyone was happy and loved the
event. But as they say, 'the greater the position, the greater the
responsibility.' I hope everyone enjoys the showcase and perfectly shown
their hard work through this showcase.
